Children's facility could compete with Metro area sites

Flint's Hurley Medical Center launched a new children's hospital inside its facility on Tuesday, becoming one of six children's hospitals across the state and posing possible competition for its Metro Detroit counterparts.

Hurley Children's Hospital provides pediatric intensive care, oncology, a nationally recognized asthma program, a neonatal intensive care unit and a pediatric emergency room, among other specialties. The hospital is more than doubling space for pediatric emergency care.
