"The average car today contains only 175 pounds of advanced high-strength new steel, but is expected to contain twice as much by 2020, according to Ducker Worldwide, a consultancy based in Troy, Mich. The basic-steel content of the average car is expected to decline to 980 pounds, from 1,542 pounds."
