Situation:
Economic downturns often produce opportunities if one can see through the malaise. One Ducker Client envisioned becoming a leading global automotive supplier and growing through the acquisition and consolidation of other, distressed automotive suppliers. The rapid growth of the organization created challenges for executives as well as gaps in consolidated and corporate leadership.
Objectives:
Ducker EE professionals served and assisted Client executives responsible for integrating acquired businesses, creating a new enterprise-wide branding strategy and financial performance and reporting.
Approach:
Ducker EE professionals prepared a two-phased engagement consisting of The first 100 Days and The second 100 Days.
- During The first100 Days, Ducker EE professionals fulfilled three critical roles maintaining responsibility for: Integrated Marketing and Brand Management; Business Development; and Consolidated Financials
- The Ducker team worked as extensions of the Client’s executive team. The joint Ducker and Client team developed a corporate vision and strategy which guided continued growth initiatives into Thesecond 100 Days
- During The second100 Days, the Ducker EE professionals continued to serve as acting Officers in the above roles collaborating with the Client team to implement the growth initiatives
Results:
While Ducker’s EE professionals were serving in temporary though critical executive positions, the Client was able to expeditiously identify and execute opportunistic and strategic acquisitions resulting in rapid growth. During this time and with the assistance of Ducker EE professionals, the client vetted many executive candidates and eventually hired a permanent CFO and CMO. Ducker’s EE service was complete and successful. Today, we continue to serve on the Executive Management Advisory Committee.
